The Grand Staircase
When trying to render the forword Grand Staircase as accurately as possible, Marschall was fortunate to have given a scale model by one of his oldest friends in the Titanic world,Father Roberto Pirrone.He had helped Father Pirrone with reference material for an eighteen-foot cutaway model of the whole ship that Pirrone had worked on for many years.Before begining the painting,Marschall photographed the model from many angles in order to understand how the spaces worked and how the scene would look from different vantage points. |
